The Nikah photo shoots are designed to showcase different and diverse ways of bridal hijab styles and gowns that a bride may choose for her wedding. Muslim women come from all backgrounds, so we at Nikah are excited to celebrate these diversities. This recent photo shoot done by Finder’s Capture, showcased a South Asian style of head covering worn by brides during their wedding ceremonies. The bride’s make up and hijab setting was done by Makeup artist and hijab stylist, Simply Jamila.
Because the dupatta is heavy, you can imagine how many tips a tricks there are to keep it up and make sure that it compliments the bride’s look while still covering the hair. For our shoot, we tried to focus on showing the versatility of the dupatta, and celebrating its bold and wonderful qualities. This outfit was provided by Oriental Costumes (located in Mississauga). Dupattas often come in bright colours, and ours was no exception! It was great to see how with the complete lehnga, the look really came into its own, and brought together elements of refined, classic style, and absolute jaw-dropping glamour.
